Biography:

Dr. Siddappa received his PhD from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore and his postdoctoral training from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston. Currently, he is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is a recipient of several young investigator awards including Indian National Science Academy Young Scientist Medal. He is a member of the AAAS, Society of Clinical and Translational Science and Global Young Academy. His current research interests are 1) evaluating simian immunodeficiency virus pathogenicity, more specifically their negative effects on mucosal lymphocyte function in acute infection, and 2) developing a bimodal vaccine strategy against mucosal Human immunodeficiency virus subtype-C transmission. He has more than 25 scientific publications in peer reviewed international journals.
